I'm from Chicago and currently live in London. I studied painting at Arizona State University and the Art Institute of Chicago. From 1993 to 2004, I was exhibiting in the Pilsen / South Loop area of Chicago. Since then I've been traveling and working abroad. It sounds more glamorous than it is, but here is the list: 2004-06 Mexico. 2008 Prague. 2010-12 London. 2012-13 Guangzhou, China. 2014-15 Riyadh, KSA. 2016-17 Dubai. In 2017 I came back to my favorite place on earth, London.
In addition to my love of painting, I also write. In 2011 I finished an MA course in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College in London. In September 2018 I completed another MA course, this one in Modern Literature, also at Goldsmiths.
In January 2018 I published my first book, Green Water Gray Skies. Inspired by my travels, it is a mangled mix of autobiography and surrealism that encapsulates my life as an artist in Mexico and Prague. Shortly after releasing the book, I began having regrets. I did not included any images of my paintings and drawings in the book - an important aspect of the story. It felt incomplete. I am now incorporating images into the text and will rerelease the book in 2019 with a new title, An Artist's Mangled Memoir. To preorder a copy, please get in touch.
